Today is the end of May. Another month down and we are edging closer to the halfway mark of 2021. But the end of this month for us means the closure of one of this years charity campaigns that is much closer to home for us than we would like.
The May50k for the MS Foundation has been a huge success. Nationally they have raised a giant amount of money and we are grateful to be able to play our part and show support for our Annouka across the month.
Last weekend the team held a private event with 72 of the coolest people we could find with an aim to clock up 500kms total in 6hours, and charge them some cash to do it. Seems like a terrible deal for them right? We thought $5,000 would’ve been awesome, but then people got generous.
805kms and almost $11,000.
But even after the generosity of those amazing humans, I struggle with the reality that we are now meant to be put MS out of our minds for another 11months. I’m pretty sure the people diagnosed with MS don’t have a day without it being in theirs.
So while the campaign ends and we get back to ‘normal’ there’s a fire that’s been started inside our business to make next years May50k, one for the record books.
