Cancer sucks. It just does.
Some of the best humans I know have been directly affected by cancer and to be completely honest, it pisses me off. I can’t wait for a day when there is no need for cancer fundraising. Sadly, we aren’t there yet.
I’ve been hit up by a heap of people today because our upcoming event with this Gold Logie holding, Dancing with the Stars winning, Love Your Sister guru (Samuel Johnson) falls on the same day as another charity gig in town. People were worried that ‘competing’ for local charity dollars wouldn’t look good. I think the exact opposite. If there could be 50 charity events that day I’d be pumped and I’d sponsor as many of them as we could. People will always support charity if it’s being done for the right reasons and there’s enough going around for everyone.
So please (double please) support each and every wonderful cause you can up to the very last dollar you can afford. If we don’t see you at our event in October, I hope you’re off supporting another great cause with handfuls of fifty dollar notes.
