Day 170 | Proud

I still get wrapped up in my own world from time to time but this week I got to celebrate an amazing milestone for a quiet little achiever. My big sister.

On Saturday night we snuck into a presentation for the Devonport Child Care Centre. We rocked up with a pj-clad 5 year old (past his bedtime) to be there to watch his Auntie Emma be recognised for 20years service to the child care industry. Emma is the most wonderful human kicking around. She loves what she does and does it without fuss, without carry-on and certainly without fanfare. If you have kids under 25 she’s at some stage probably wiped their nose, read them a book or made sure they ate a healthy lunch.

When being presented with the certificate of appreciation, her long-time boss (the wonderful Aileen Brett ) mentioned the love of Emma’s two favourite things, the Adelaide Crows (go crows!) and her family. While the Crows are right up there, it’s probably one certain member of the family that takes the cake.

This picture is pretty much what every Sunday looks like. Mum and Dad become invisible when we see Auntie Emma for lunch, it’s beautiful to watch.

So, congrats to my big sister for always being a rockstar. All the little tackers out there need more people like Emma in their lives.
