Day 1198 | Let’s go ‘Pro’

Hey everyone! I’ve been a little quiet on the socials lately but while we’ve been selling a truckload of houses I’ve also been working on a few things outside of real estate too.

Late last year after taking on the role as President of the NW Thunder Basketball team (with ZERO basketball knowledge!) I decided to put some time into marketing that we have professional athletes playing so close to home. 12months ago I had genuinely no clue that we had world-class talent playing in a local stadium on a Saturday night and how accessable and affordable it was as a family to go and watch some high quality basketball in a fun environment.

Next Saturday at 7:30pm our season begins with a game against the only other Tasmanian team in the NBL1 Southern Conference (the Hobart Chargers). We want to pack out the Ulverstone Stadium and have 1000 fans making as much noise as possible not just because it’s a blast, but because these athletes deserve it. KaVaughn Scott (pictured with me below) is one of the most exciting US prospects we’ve seen according the basketball experts in the organisation, and he’s ready to put on a show.

We have 6 state team representatives, a host of top level locals like Ben Woolley, Paul Campbell, Joel Beveridge and Cam Brown out there competing. And then there’s the Jackjumpers players coming our way once their season finishes up to add a new level again.

With only 10 games here for the season (heaps of our games are played in Victoria) I’d love to see the local community embrace the chance to come and watch these guys go at it. We want the stadium to feel like our own fortress and have opposition teams nervous about stepping foot on our court.

So do me a favour… bring your family, or come along with your friends to Game 1 and see what it’s all about. I guarantee you won’t even realise what we’ve been missing out on, even if you’re not a big basketball fan (like I wasn’t).

Pre-Sale Tickets are on Sale now on the NW Thunder website before the public sale starts Tuesday, and once we hit 1000 there’s no more room. Can’t wait to see you there.
